Clarity in One Week
As parents, you’re the first to sense that something isn’t right with your child. They’re constantly exhausted, their performance in school is slipping, their mood swings wildly, and your child is becoming increasingly withdrawn. Without a clear diagnosis, parents and the affected adolescents experience a high degree of uncertainty and self-doubt. This makes a professional and reliable diagnosis all the more important, as it often leads to far-reaching decisions. This is where our Mental Check-Up comes in.
During a so-called “Diagnostic Week,” our interdisciplinary team of specialists, psychotherapists, and therapists in child and adolescent psychiatry conducts a comprehensive evaluation of your child to assess the challenges they’ve faced and their specific needs. By the end of the week, you’ll have a valid and well-founded diagnosis that will help you and your child understand where you stand and how to move forward.
Day 1: Your child gets to know our team and the clinic. In initial conversations, we assess the situation, medical history, and concerns of your child and you as parents.
Days 2–5: Comprehensive diagnostics: Consultations with medical specialists and psychotherapists, standardized psychological testing, structured interviews with child and adolescent psychiatrists, and physical and laboratory examinations.
Days 6–7: The results are compiled and evaluated by the team. During the follow-up consultation, you and your child will receive the diagnosis, an interpretation of the results, and specific recommendations for next steps.
We specialize in adolescents. The LIMES Schlossklinik Abtsee private mental health clinic treats only adolescents and young adults between the ages of 14 and 21. An experienced team of medical specialists, psychotherapists, and therapists in child and adolescent psychiatry works together in an interdisciplinary manner.
We offer your child a safe and supportive environment. Our clinic is located on a 25,000-square-meter lakeside property. Each adolescent receives individualized care in an atmosphere that encourages openness.
The check-up takes one week.
No. The check-up is meant to provide clarity. Even a diagnosis of “no illness” is a valuable result.
Among other conditions, we diagnose depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and personality disorders.
Talk openly with your child without putting any pressure on them. It’s also important to note that a diagnostic evaluation to rule out other conditions can be very beneficial for your child. We’d be happy to support you during a preliminary consultation.
